The international seaport of Turkmenbashi is located at the crossroads of Europe-Asia and Asia-Europe routes and serves as the sea gate of Central Asia. As a result of the recent increase in freight traffic along the Europe-Caucasus-Asia international corridor (TRACECA), the potential as well as the attractiveness of our country's sea freight traffic has noticeably increased. Along with freight traffic, the number of tourists traveling by sea at our port is also growing noticeably. As a result, work is already underway at the international seaport of Turkmenbashi to diversify ferry routes around the Caspian Sea. The official meeting of the Head of the International Seaport A.E.Kosaev and the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Head of the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport Ya.A.Tsvetkov in Moscow on the establishment of a ferry service between the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi and the seaport of Makhachkala of Russian Federation is an important step in this direction. These measures are an important link in strengthening the close relations between two friendly nations.
